Visit with Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell and Miss Tennessee, Erin Hatley, on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Stonebridge Golf Club, 3049 Davies Plantation Road.

The Board of Commissioners of Lakeland, Tennessee will hold a Public Meeting to discuss:

THE CREATION AND FUNDING OF A MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF LAKELAND AND A SPECIAL REFERENDUM REGARDING THE MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE HELD ON MAY 10, 2012

THE INCREASE OF THE SALES AND USE TAX IN THE CITY OF LAKELAND FROM 2.25% TO 2.75% AND A REFERENDUM REGARDING THE INCREASE OF THE SALES AND USE TAX

OTHER REVENUE SOURCES, INCLUDING A PROPERTY TAX

The Public Meeting will be held at City Hall, 10001 U.S. Highway 70, Lakeland, Tennessee on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 5:30 P.M.

At 6:30 p.m., there will be a Public Hearing on the Ordinance creating the Municipal School District (subject to approval at a referendum) and a Public Hearing on increasing the local option sales tax by 1/2 % (to 2.75%).
