REPORT UNWANTED/IMPROPERLY DELIVERED NEWSPAPERS-HELP STOP SURFACE WATER POLLUTION ADN LITTER!

Unwanted newspapers on your lawn, driveway etc?  We recently have received complaints about unwanted newspapers littering driveways, yards and city streets.

Newspapers have the right to deliver newspapers (whether ordered or not in many cases) by throwing them on residential lawns.

However, if you DON"T want the newspapers and leave them on the lawn (or note them delivered to vacant houses etc., or just sloppy or careless delivery creating litter problems), please CALL THE NEWSPAPER and advise them.  Legitimate newspapers do not want to create litter problems and want to know if you do not want the paper on your lawn or of problems being created by  delivery of the newspapers.

Newspapers (and other illegal leaflets etc.) can create serious pollution of our surface water and create substantial damage to drainage facilities.

Leaflets, baggies with rocks etc. are always illegal and considered litter. Please report all such litter to City Hall at 901 867-2717 or Action@lakelandtn.org.

A number of newspapers deliver by throwing a free newspaper on all lawns.  If you find an offending newspapers, please call the newspaper and ask them not to deliver to your address (if you don't want the paper) or note problem areas where the newspaper is improperly delivered.
