Jim Bacon

We are sorry to hear of Jim Bacon’s passing on Monday, December 8, 2008. Jim currently served as Chair of the Lakeland Park and Recreation Board.

He was very active on the Lakeland Park and Recreation Board. He volunteered numerous hours at Park and Recreational Board events and was always willing to help where and when needed.

Jim was instrumental in establishing the Lakeland Park and Recreation Golf Tournament, which raised funds for the certification of coaches of youth sports and he made a major contribution of time and effort in making the Golf Tournament a success the first two years.

In my mind, Jim Bacon truly exemplified the Lakeland spirit of benefiting the community by volunteering and personally contributing his time and efforts to making Lakeland a better community.

We will miss him.
