Lakeland residents are encouraged to attend the meeting on attendance zone Public Hearings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at "Arlington" High School, 5475 Airline Road in Arlington.
Since Shelby County Schools ignores neighborhoods and City boundaries in assigning students, residents should not assume they will be assigned to a a specific school (such as Lakeland Elementary) just because it seems to make sense.

Shelby County Schools’ personnel will be on hand to answer your questions. Maps depicting the proposed attendance zones for the 2009/2010 school year will be on display for review and comment.
