"There's an App for Lakeland City Hall"

The City of Lakeland has released the City of Lakeland Official Mobile Application that provides residents using Android or Apple mobile devices a new method for communicating and reporting issues to City Hall.

The Lakeland Mobile App provides users a direct line of communication to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, access to the City’s RSS calendar and news feeds, location and contact information for Lakeland businesses, and City parks and recreation general facility and location information.

To report an issue to City Hall, Lakeland Mobile App users can select from among a range of issues, such as graffiti/vandalism, illegal signs, park maintenance, and potholes and street repairs, among the other reporting and feedback options provided by the app.

Mobile device users can download the Official City of Lakeland Mobile App at the Apple App Store or the Google Playstore.  Search for Lakeland, Lakelandtn, or LakelandtnOfficial.

The Action e-mail of Action@lakelandtn.org may also be used to report an issue, make a suggestion or comment.

The first half of class is similar to a zumba gold and/or aerobics, however there is no need worry about keeping up with every move because as long as you are moving and having fun that is the goal! The class is low impact, but most movements and/or exercises can be adapted to make them more intense or less demanding to accommodate your fitness level. You will need a mat for the second half of the class.

The class age range is 35 - 79. Sherri Gallick, AFAA Certified Instructor, was a Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader and taught fitness classes in the Kansas City area prior to moving to Lakeland. Now 50+, Sherri feels the aches and pains of a maturing body, but can also attest to the benefits of maintaining health and fitness. SECOND QUARTER 2013 “ART IN CITY HALL” EXHIBIT
Featuring Oil Paintings by Bobbi Cornett

Bobbi Cornett has been oil painting for over a decade. After retiring, she started painting, thinking how hard could it be? She found out harder than imagined, so Bobbi took oil painting classes from several instructors over the years, including Sandy Scruggs at the Hobby Lobby in Bartlett.

She particularly enjoys using a palette knife as it adds texture to her paintings. She finds painting very therapeutic and hopes others will enjoy her creative efforts. You may contact Bobbi at 372-3244.
